“Many restaurants are forced to close their doors because they cannot compete with a catering truck’s prices,” said Louis Herrera, president of the Greater East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. “It’s unfair competition.”
Herrera sounds a little like Jim Taggart there. Competing on price is just about as fair as competition gets. If the restaurants can’t compete on price, then they need to provide better food or better service to make their higher prices seem worthwhile to the customer base. Nobody stops going to Mortons because there is a dirty-water hot dog stand on the corner.
